日本のぎんこう
今日、12/1/2009。According to the Wall Street Journal (ワールスタリタジョーナル), The Bank of Japan (日本のぎんこう) unveiled a monetary easing plan that could inject up to $115.7 billion into an economy facing deflation and a soaring currency. This injection of money is a plan of action to fight the global recession we are experiencing. 日本 has put up two straight quarters of economic growth and demand for their exports have grown, however consumer prices have dropped and the yen has weakened against the dollar, which scares many 日本人 officials.

はじめまして マイヤーホーファです どうぞ よろしく
ぼくは アメリカじんです さんねんせいです
ぼくは びじねすの せんこうです
I consider myself a sort of aficionado of すし(sushi). I love the Japanese diet, especially sushi. My favorite type of sushi is salmon sashimi. Sashimi is usually the first course in the Japanese meal. According to Wikipedia, a lot of Japanese people think that sashimi, which is considered the finest dish in the Japanese diet, should be eaten before other strong flavors affect the palate.
Ive only eaten sushi in America and Im sure the sushi in Japan is so much better, so I cant wait to eat all types of sushi when I am in Tokyo next spring.

こんにちは。
Before I was born, my grandparents were stationed in Tokyo, Japan during my grandpa's air force days. Naturally I grew up hearing stories of beautiful geishas and giant sumo wrestlers and although I had always loved these stories I was never especially interested in Japan. Then I began looking for places to study abroad my Junior year at ND, did some research on Tokyo, and was drawn in by it. I applied and was accepted into the program. I leave for Sophia University, Tokyo in the Spring of 2010.

I am taking Japanese 1 because it is required for the program but also because I really want to have a basic understanding of the Japanese language and culture before I set sail for Tokyo.
